In 2021, many new cpt codes will be added. Also , their will be some codes revised and some will be deleted as per AMA . Since, we are few months away from 2021, we will checkout the new cpt codes updates for 2021.
Their are many new changes, but today we will only look at the New CPT codes for Audiology. The American Medical Association CPT Editorial Panel approved these codes for implementation on January 1, 2021. Below is the list of New Audiology cpt codes for 2021.
The four new AEP CPT codes are as follows:
92650 Auditory-evoked potentials; screening of auditory potential with broadband stimuli, automated analysis
92651 For hearing status determination, broadband stimuli, with interpretation and report
92652 For threshold estimation at multiple frequencies, with interpretation and report
(Do not report 92652 in conjunction with 92651)
92653 Neurodiagnostic, with interpretation and report
In addition, the groups developed three new codes to simplify reporting of VEMP testing. The new VEMP CPT codes are as follows:
92517 Vestibular-evoked myogenic potential testing, with interpretation and report; cervical (cVEMP)
(Do not report 92517 in conjunction with 92270, 92518, 92519)
92518 Ocular (oVEMP)
(Do not report 92518 in conjunction with 92270, 92517, 92519)
92519 Cervical and ocular
(Do not report 92519 in conjunction with 92270, 92517, 92518)
