MS-DRG codes used for COVID 19 confirmed cases

Covid 19 codes are now updated for both CPT and ICD 10. Also, the DRG codes have been assigned for the Covid 19 cases, which will be having the confirmed diagnosis U07.1 as the principal diagnosis.

We have already seen the complete list of ICD 10 codes for Covid 19 and the coding guidelines for them. The CPT code 87635 and the two new HCPCS codes U0001 and U0002 have also been added recently for Covid 19 lab testing.

 Their are separate codes for specimen collection and the antibody testing for Covid 19 cases. Many codes have been updated by AMA, CDC and Medicare, so do check the coding guidelines before using them.

Also , some of the examples for ICD 10 coding of Covid 19 are shared, do check them and clear your confusion. Coming back to DRG, below are the MS-DRG codes will be used for the new ICD 10 CM diagnosis codes U07.1 for Covid 19 cases.
